Dr. Ann Marie Semich is a highly skilled professional offering insightful, effective and compassionate counseling.

In private practice since 2004 and the founder of Jupiter Community Counseling, Dr. Semich provides direct guidance, tools for growth & healing, and strategies for improved change. She is fully dedicated to each individual client, helping people move beyond life challenges such as relationship issues, anxieties, trauma, depression, low self-worth or grief. She is passionate about helping people live life more fully.

She applies well-researched modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapies, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Biofeedback, Neuroscience and Expressive Arts. For couples, she draws on therapeutic techniques from Imago, Gottman, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

For students or those unsatisfied in their careers, she offers a very successful 3-session Career Counseling Program that assesses an individual’s personality, interests, values and goals to discover the career path that is right for you.

She holds both a Doctorate degree and a Master's degree in Psychology and is licensed in the State of Florida as a Marriage & Family Therapist and a Mental Health Counselor. In addition, Dr. Ann Marie teaches classes & workshops on a variety of topics including Mindfulness and yoga. She has been a Registered Yoga Teacher since 1997.

Online sessions with Dr. Semich are available for a variety of circumstances. This service makes appointments easy and can take place in the comfort and convenience of your own home or office. All you need is a smart phone or computer and a quiet, private space. Ask for details.

Ann Marie has lived in the Jupiter area since 1995 but is originally from California, and has lived in Indianapolis, Chicago, New York and Paris. In her spare time, Ann Marie enjoys paddle boarding, yoga, boating, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She resides in Jupiter with her husband of over 20 years.

Jessica O'Shea

Jessica O'Shea at Jupiter Community Counseling

Jessica brings warmth, understanding and insight to the counseling experience.

She has the ability of making people feel at ease and comfortable right away, connecting easily with people of all ages. She offers some of the best modalities and effective counseling approaches for couples and individuals. As a couples counselor, she is trained in Gottman, Emotion Focused Therapy and Prepare/Enrich. Jessica is able to convey strategies that improve communication, help resolve conflicts and deepen relationships. When working with individuals, Jessica shares tools for reducing stress and anxiety, elevating a depressed mood, processing through feelings and/or building self-esteem and confidence.

Her passion for the helping people achieve a more fulfilling life is evident in her dedication and caring nature.

Jessica has been studying the field of psychology for 7 years, obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and currently completing her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

She has lived in the Jupiter/West Palm Beach area for over 30 years and is a devoted wife and mother of three beautiful children.

Liz Solomon, MBA, MS

Liz Solomon specializes in couples of all ages and backgrounds!

Everyone experiences struggles and difficulties in life. Everyone! Liz considers it a privilege to help people navigate through these difficult times by listening, discussing, and implementing proven, research-based therapeutic treatment. She provides an environment where individuals, couples, and families can safely express their hurts, difficulties, and anxieties as well as their needs, desires, and goals.

Liz holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, a Master’s in Business, and a Finance degree. Her educational background, business knowledge, and personal experience raising a family all contribute to her well-rounded and thoughtful approach to psychotherapy. She works closely with both individuals and couples, offering professional support during significant or difficult life transitions and periods of emotional, financial, and familial/marital distress. She has worked extensively with couples and is trained in the Gottman Method, Emotionally-Focused Therapy for Couples, Prepare/Enrich, and Couples Communication for premarital and marital counseling. She is certified in EMDR for trauma, which she uses in conjunction with many other treatment modalities. Her specialties include couples counseling, the grief and transition of divorce, anxiety disorders and depression, trauma, and personality disorders. Liz is registered in the state of Florida as a Mental Health Counseling Intern.

Shirley Gilbert has been working with in a family counseling setting for over 15 years.

Over the past two decades, she has worked with young people, families and couples dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship struggles, family conflicts and communication. She believes in everyone’s potential to self-actualize and live a happy life. She has an eclectic approach to counseling which she tailors to each client’s unique needs. She especially enjoys working with couples, teens, families experiencing divorce, and women’s issues.

She has earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling from the State University of New York and is Licensed as a School Counselor in both New York and Florida. Additionally, Shirley is licensed in the State of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor. She resides in Jupiter with her three beautiful daughters.

Deborah Newell believes in a strength based approach and empowering individuals & families to their unique full potential.

For over a decade, Deborah has served teens, adults, families, prenatal mothers, and children. Deborah is eclectic and uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and psycho-education to guide individuals in a safe and caring environment. Additionally, she is considered a parenting expert, using the principles of Triple P Positive Parenting, helping to shift family dynamics into healthier, happier relationships. She uses a holistic approach, exploring and educating clients about mind, spirit and body interconnection. Her theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience positive healthy change. Deborah is experienced in art and photo therapy techniques.

Deborah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Florida and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is certified in Triple P Positive Parenting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Infant Mental Health Specialist. Deborah is a Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida.

Dr. Nancy Smith has been a practicing therapist for over 30 years with a focus on resolving challenging issues and reviving relationships.

Dr. Smith is a widely-skilled and experienced therapist, which allows her to offer a personalized approached to each person and couple based upon the current issues. Her broad clinical experience gives her an in-depth understanding of complex and challenging situations and relationships. She will listen carefully to your concerns and help determine the best path to achieve your goals for therapy. With decades of experience, she has led hundreds of couples and individuals to a better life. Additionally, Dr. Nancy Smith teaches Marriage and Family Therapy courses in the graduate program at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

She has also worked extensively with anxiety and mood disorders, including bipolar and depression. She understands the struggle of living with these conditions and how overwhelming they can feel. Nancy helps people better understand the causes, what can be done to feel better and how to move toward an improved quality life.

Dr. Nancy Smith has a Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Barry University. She is licensed in the State of Florida as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Social Worker.

Susan enjoys helping couples revive their relationship and break negative cycles of interacting.

She has experience working with couples in all stages of relationships ranging from those who want to boost their relationship to those who feel their relationship may be on the brink of ending. Susan also specializes in working with new moms and women experiencing difficulties such as low desire, motherhood transition and anxiety.

Susan has been practicing for over 10 years, including many years of private practice. Additionally, she has facilitated couples workshops, postpartum groups, new moms groups and groups addressing sexual issues. She is trained in Gottman Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy, and working with Postpartum and Perinatal symptoms.

After receiving her MA in Counseling Psychology and post Masters certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, she continued her education with a post graduate certificate in Sex therapy from the Colorado School of Family Therapy. Susan and her family relocated from Colorado and have been residents of Jupiter since 2011. She is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida.
